how was your weekend?

i slept a lot. seems my body has taken charge and is now making my decisions for me. no matter how much i want to do something, if the body decides it would rather sleep . . . then, we sleep. i spent several years feeling really guilty for napping, but i am starting to get the hang of it. hooray for naps - - down with productivity. also, we are getting ready to plant the two raised garden beds that came with our house. one of the reasons i fell in love with this place and they have been horribly neglected since we moved in. andrew's parents are here and they are both green thumbs, so we have put all four of their thumbs to hard work and hope to have it all done by the end of the week. i'll keep you posted.

ps. the photos imply that i had a beach picnic. i didn't. did you?

my weekend was fantastic... good weather, great food, lots of sitting still in the sun. I concur about the napping... under-rated.

we don't really have a beach here. I just sit in the yard in the sunshine, close my eyes and pretend to hear the surf. I can still remember the sound.

Gotta love three-day weekends! Especially when they're filled with bike rides and kayaking. Although naps sound equally appealing.

Yesterday I got up and went for a run, then diligently readied myself for work. I grabbed my purse and scrambled around for my phone, only to discover a new text. What did it say? It said, "I found someone to work your shift. I don't need you to work today." I felt like I had a stolen day! Husband and I went shopping and lunching in Pasadena. It was lovely. P.S.S. I love your photographs. They serve as a huge visual inspiration to me. Do you live over in Silverlake? I'm close to there, I'm on Los Feliz.

You should never feel guilty for taking care of yourself. Your health always have to come first before anything or anyone else. Take pride that you took a nap and took care of yourself.
