Old School

My contribution to the Old School show at Uppercase Gallery.
Read more about it here.
I ate the Hostess cup cake as soon as I was done shooting. They're still pretty good. But there wasn't enough money in the world to get me to touch that Salisbury steak.
I was never one to eat the school lunch. I always brought mine. Peanut butter sandwich (no jelly), potato sticks (not chips) some fruit (usually green grapes), 2 oreos and a Capri Sun.
How about you?

cream cheese, marmite and cucumber sandwiches! It's time to revive that combo I think. And monster munch crisps from the vending machine...

I LOVE this, Jen.

I too was a peanut butter sandwich girl (no jelly), only my lunchbox also included carrot sticks, cheese crackers, and a couple of cookies (either Oreos or Soft Batch). I can't remember whether or not fruit was involved. I always lusted after Capri Sun, but I wasn't allowed to have it. So sad. I got a little carton of milk everyday instead, and I HATED it.

the thought of having to eat a school lunch again makes me want to puke. So gross.

But, a great photo none the less.

Great photo Jen,
That was my lunch box in elementary school and it always had Oreos in it!

I love your 'old school' photos! My mother made me buy a metal muppet babies lunch box (because it lasted longer than plastic, which turned out to be true. I ate a PBJ, carrot sticks and an Ecto Cooler juice box (it was neon green juice with a theme from the Ghost Buster movies...so healthy).

I really like your Old School images. Your lunch cracks me up, I didn't think there were others who only ate Peanut Butter (no jelly) sandwiches. Add some pretzels, carrot sticks and some sort of candy and that was what I ate all through middle school and high school.

pbj on my mom's oatmeal bread, an apple and milk. I always wanted what everyone else had - hostess cups, oreos, capri-suns, cup-o-noodles... until high school when i realized how good my mom's bread was and wouldn't trade for anything :)

still loving your blog(s) and your new site!

I'll be brutally honest here and say that my dad used to make my lunch for me..as he discovered new sandwich combinations, he'd stick them in my lunch box.

Two I remember are strawberry cream cheese on a bagel and peanut butter and maraschino cherry on wholewheat.

Beyond sandwich..homemade cookies, capri sun (or boxed orange juice, macintosh apples or banana.

Jen - if my dad's house sells in time, I am sooo going to check the Old School exhibition out! It is going to be a physical exhibition too, right?
